All of the above are a part of Hawaii. But what is Hawaii?

Hawaii consists of 7 islands and these islands were created by volcanoes also known as Pele by the ancient and modern day Hawaiians. Pele is a very powerful goddess, the spirit of the volcano.

The magical process of life being created on these islands started with Pele and her gift of lava. Then birds from around the world delivered the seeds of various trees of plants, fruits and flowers and the people came to these islands by way of canoes from far away. Among these people were a small handful of very spiritual ones called kahunas. These kahunas created heiaus. A heiau is an ancient temple that was built on a sacred powerspot. The ancient Hawaiians referred to the life force that is in everything and everywhere as “mana” which was concentrated on those heiaus. The ancient Hawaiian people had a very strong and harmonious connection with the land, the ocean and the environment. They completely depended on the land, the ocean and their environment for their needs to survive. The ancient kahunas provided a very important role in their communities. The kahunas’ role was to be a mental healer, emotional healer, physical healer and spiritual healer. They were highly respected by the community and had a very strong and deep connection to the forces / spirits of trees, rocks, the land, the ocean, the wind as well as with the different gods and goddesses, they offered spiritual guidance and performed ceremonies such as: weddings, funerals, etc.
